A variant of the Harbin Z-9 Haitun, the Z-9A is the second version of the Chinese licensed reproduction of the Dauphin II; 20 were manufactured--the last being completed in January 1992.  One of the two prototypes (B-572L, Z9A-0100) was shown at Airshow China '96.

The maximum internal and external payloads remain the same at 1,900 kg and 1,600 kg, respectively
