Record for the fastest speed around the world in a piston engined rotorcraft Eastbound at an average speed of 22.4 km/hr (FAI record ID # 4891)
Pilot was Jennifer Murray accompanied by her instructor Quentin Smith. The aircraft, a Robinson R44 Astro G-MURY, can be seen in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Udvar-Hazy Center. Jennifer Murray was also the first female pilot to complete a solo helicopter flight around the world and holds FAI records ID # 6703 and 6704.
