Lt. Col. Richard Kay Bastian, 37, served in the Engineer's branch of the U.S. Army. His last assignment was with the Far East Engineer District, Seoul, Korea.
An experienced pilot, he compiled over 3,000 hours in fixed wing planes and in helicopters. He was a member of the AHS, the American Society of Photogrammetry, the SAME and the AAAA.
