Larry Doyle was the Chief of Flight Instrumentation at Sikorsky Aircraft. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1959, and a Master of Electrical Engineering from Yale University in 1962. He joined Sikorsky as an Electronic Test Engineer in 1959, the day after he graduated from college, and remained there for 35 years. From 1961 to 1967 he worked in the design and application of instrumentation systems for both flight and ground test applications. These included systems for the S-58, S-61, S-64, and S-65 model aircraft. In 1967 he was assigned as the supervisor of the Flight Data Processing and Telemetry facility.
His major projects included design and development of Sikorsky’s Airborne Magnetic Tape Data Acquisition Processing System, full-scale wind tunnel instrumentation and control systems, and a variety of specialized measurement packages.
Mr. Doyle passed away on June 24, 1994.
