Jones D. Davidson worked as the engineering division chief of the Army Aviation Test Office at the Air Force Flight Test Center. Mr. Davidson also put in about four years at the Center's Flight Test Division before transferring to the Army test office. He was in the division's aeronautical wing section. Born in Iraan, Texas, he graduated from San Jose State College in 1954 with a BS in aeronautical engineering and came to Edwards after a two-year enlistment in the Army, which included service in Germany. Davidson died on July 26, 1961, at age 28, in a car accident while returning to Edwards from Los Angeles International Airport after flying to Washington on government business.
