Bruce Jay, director of communications for Boeing Helicopters, was with Boeing for 22 years and had held the post of communications director since 1979. His responsibilities included the company's public relations, public affairs, employee communications, and advertising programs.  

Mr. Jay was a member of the American Helicopter Society.  Other professional affiliations included the Army Aviation Association of America, Helicopter Association International, and the International Business Communicators Association.

A 1959 graduate of Boston University, with a B.S. degree in communications arts, Mr. Jay was active in local community groups, including the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Delaware Valley Council, and Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce. Bruce died at his home in Philadelphia on March 27, 1988, of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Jay was 50.
