Frederick W. Garry, an AHS past president and retired VP of Corporate Engineering & Manufacturing at GE Aircraft Engines, died on February 10, 1993. He was 71.
A long time member of the Society, Garry is also a member of the GE Aircraft Engine Hall of Fame. In 1990, he was awarded the National Medal of Technology by President George Bush in honor of his career achievements.
