Dr. John C. Ruth was a retired Lieutenant Colonel and a 22 year Air Force veteran with service in Vietnam. Following his retirement from active duty, he worked for the defense industry, initially with General Dynamics, but eventually with McDonnell Douglas at Mesa, Arizona, where he became a vice president. He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and later earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At the time of his death, Dr. Ruth worked at Boeing and was an AIAA Fellow.
Dr. Ruth passed away on February 15, 2005.
