First flight of the first successful tilt wing aircraft (Vertol VZ-2)

Description

The Vertol 76 was the world’s first successful tilt wing aircraft; it received the Army designation VZ-2 in early 1956. It went on to perform the first complete transition  from rotor borne flight to wing borne flight by a tiltwing/tiltprop aircraft.
