The AeroVelo Atlas achieves the Human Powered Helicopter competition reqts.

The Igor I. Sikorsky Human Powered Helicopter (HPH) Competition was launched in 1980 and  required competitors to achieve specific requirements to achieve the AHS prize,


- A one minute hovering time

- A momentary achievement of 3 meters altitude,

- The vehicle to be controlled within a constrained box

- All the above had to be achieved in the same flight

The prize was awarded 11 July 2013
