Variant of the Mi-8.  Unlike the Mi-8T, the turboshaft engine is equipped with deflectors to prevent dust ingestion.  The military-transport helicopter has an armored cabin and is eqipped with 7.62 mm machine guns.  The Mi-8MTV family is capable of a higher hover ceiling than the Mi-8MT.

The aircraft is part of the Mil Mi-17 export series.
